Hello,

I’m Ben Oliver, an aspiring Photographer and film score composer based in Sydney, Australia. After graduating from UTS with a bachelor of Music And Sound Design in 2022 I aim to spend the next years of my life journey collaborating and working with those who share in my overflowing passion…

A bit about me, a bit about my work, and a bit of your attention.

Recent Work

2022 UTS Animal Logic Academy Work

This work was conducted within the UTS partnership program with Animal Logic and involved around 30 animation masters students who created this SCI-FI dystopian piece: Corrupted.

I, Ben Oliver and my friend and coworker Joe Nguyen were responsible for creating the entire music score for this animation. Working alongside Director Alex Weight to create a score that encapsulates the unique environment and story that is seen within the world of ‘Corrupted’.

Soundscape and Score: Floorboards (Animation)

My good friend, Emma O’Sullivan and I were responsible for creating the soundscape and score for this short animation created by UTS 3rd year animation students. It is a short story of a woman who experiences flashbacks while moving out of the family house that she grew up in, rekindling memories with her father along the way.

Solarpunk Sounds

One of the tasks that I undertook while in my internship at THe DA’s Office was to create a piece of music that builds on an immersive world of my choosing. Solarpunk is a futuristic utopian world style that harnesses the power of the sun to create renewable and effective ways of living. My music was based around a boy in this world whose mother faces cancer, creating distress within him as the world around him focuses on infinite possibilities while his mother’s life is becoming increasingly finite.

Futuristic landscape with advanced city, green fields, and drones. Modern buildings rise in the background. Solar-powered buildings and trees populate the foreground. People can be seen interacting with technology.
